San Juan Skyway
This byway scribes a large loop around southwestern Colorado: Beginning at Ridgway, it heads south through Ouray, up and over Red Mountain Pass to Silverton, then over Molas Pass and down to Durango. From Durango, the byway heads west to Mancos and Cortez before turning north to Dolores, following the Dolores River to Lizard Head Pass and descending into Telluride. From Telluride, it parallels the San Miguel River to Placerville before climbing over Dallas Divide to return to Ridgway.
